beautiful waterfalls, crystal clear water in a deep remote canyon. havasupai is a world-class destination, but you've got to walk or fly to get there.
we're gonna leave wednesday morning @ 5 (haas parking lot) and come home friday night late.
it's 12 miles each way - you've got to carry everything you need for the weekend.
i'll bring a stove & fuel for us to cook with
here's what you'll need:
$100 ($82 for park entrance, camping fees for two nights & the rest for gas)
all your own food
untensils, plate/bowl (a way to eat your food)
water bottle or camelbak (full, ready to go for the way down)
headlamp or flashlight
a pack to get all this stuff down there
a sleeping bag
a sleeping pad
shoes you can hike 30 miles in
appropriate clothes (something warmer for night, hikeable for the day)
toilitries (there are bathrooms down there)
you might want these:
flip flops, sandals, or watershoes to explore the river
** this is a long hike - don't bring any more than you absolutely have to - the weight will matter to you - i don't care how burly you are
